I will be 73 years old in April, a retired computer (mainframe) programmer, and I'm trying to live on social security.  I depleted my IRA three years ago and have been struggling ever since.  I guess I'm a borderline poverty case; too poor to get along without help of some kind, but not poor enough to be a charity case.  It has simply come down to the fact that my monthly social security check falls short of covering my monthly bills.   Because of that fact, I had to declare bankruptcy, last year, and am now a bad credit risk.  Fortunately (maybe unfortunately) I retained a credit card which is still active and one which I can use in an emergency.  I'm receiving a little bit of aid from Medicaid which pays my Medicare premium.  However, my supplement is costing a lot.

My big problem, at the moment, is that the house I am presently renting is shortly going to be reclaimed by the owners who want to move back into it; therefore, I am going to have to move.  I can't afford the cost-of-living in this area, and I am trying to do research on areas that I might be able to afford to live.  I am in excellent health for a woman my age, but I'm afraid of what the future holds for me.  Is there anyone out there who can give me some advice?
